Bio

Sean Francois is an accomplished jazz bassist from Sleepy Hollow, Illinois. With two musicians for parents, Sean grew up surrounded by music. Sean picked up the bass at age 9 and has been performing ever since.

 

Sean has studied with world renowned musicians and educators, including David Baker, Nick Schneider, Mark Bettcher, and Jeremy Allen. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in music from Indiana University’s prestigious Jacobs School of Music in 2013.

 

Following college, Sean established himself in the Chicago area where he performed and ran a thriving private studio. Sean became well known in the area and regularly performed with several different ensembles ranging in style from jazz to classical rock and salsa.

Sean is a currently based in New Jersey and regularly performs throughout the New York/New Jersey area with numerous ensembles, including Hudson Heights.

 

Sean has performed or recorded with: The Sean Francois Trio, Bob Ojeda, The Starfall Orchestra, Jazz Community Big Band, Hutson and the FX Project, Brownie Mountain, Cafe Cubano, Johnny Edward, Matt Peterson, Michael Spiro, and Indiana University's Latin Jazz Ensemble featuring Randy Brecker and Peter Erskine.
